Westside is conducting its largest renewal project since 2010. The expansion and renovation project is scheduled to run until the end of 2025 and will renew a number of spaces to better serve our growing community.

The renovation and expansion will focus on five key areas:

• Fitness Centre expansion – The Fitness Centre will be expanded by approximately 5,000 square feet, extending out over the current Leisure Ice. This will provide much-needed additional space for individual or small group fitness. The new area will be fully outfitted with new equipment, with a focus on functional fitness.
• North Fitness, Running Track, Junior Studio renovations – The North Fitness area will feature new flooring and configuration, the Running Track will be resurfaced, and the Junior Studio (formerly Studio 2) will be renovated and newly outfitted as well.
• New Cafe and updated Lobby – We will be relocating food services to the front of the building and creating a new café area with modern and expanded seating, longer hours of operation, and mobile ordering capability.
• Plus Change Rooms refurbishment – The Plus Change Rooms will receive their first major renovation since Westside opened in 2000. Both men’s and women’s Plus changing areas will feature new lockers, washrooms, showers, steam rooms, grooming stations, fixtures and finishings.
• Service Elevator – A new service elevator will be installed at Westside’s north entrance to meet usage demands and to safely carry heavy equipment, freight, and construction materials to the second floor. The service elevator also ensures customer accessibility and safety while we conduct repairs and lifecycle maintenance on our existing passenger elevator.

Westside remains fully open and is committed to ensuring access to facilities, programs and services during construction activities. You can be assured that we will work to minimize impacts to our members and guests wherever possible.
